A card model of the new village hall: a long building with black timber-style walls, an orange tiled roof with solar panels and roof windows, and a small porch entrance at the front

Hever Village Hall has been at the heart of the community for 120 years providing a meeting place for a diverse range of activities, from children’s parties through to flower shows, barn dances and fitness classes. The hall has been upgraded several times over the years but has now reached the point where it is no longer sustainable without a complete rebuild. Following consultation, the villagers approved the rebuild plan, and a model of the new hall has been created (above).

The new hall will be built as cost-effectively as possible, using durable, sustainable materials and incorporating features such as solar panels. However, the projected cost is about £800,000 unless we can secure local donations of materials and labour which will really help.

The fundraising campaign is to begin in earnest shortly; we already have pledges totalling £50,000.

The results of the 2018 survey revealed that the villagers valued the hall and would like its facilities to be improved. We have sanded and varnished the floor and repainted the walls of the hall – please see the photo on the main Village Hall page of the refreshed interior.
