Two passionate and enthusiastic guys (David & Tony) own King Henry VIII Inn (aka “The Henry”).  They work closely with their fantastic team of helpful and knowledgeable staff.

The food – honest home cooked food served in generous portions, what more can we say!  Menus are updated with the seasons.  Produce is sourced locally where possible.
Vegetarian options are available and the chefs have a great knowledge of all special dietary requirements too.

The drink – Kentish ales & sporadic guest ales served throughout the year, with a wine list to appeal to the most discerning of wine drinkers.

The Henry is evolving and responds to all seasons – a newly refurbished indoor / outdoor space and decked area to the rear, perfect for those summer evenings – al fresco with views across the pond or warm by the roaring fires in the winter.

A quiz night is held every fortnight from January to November.

Absolutely shocking and appalling service from King Henry VIII Pub, very sadly. We tried to call up 4 months in advance to book a large table for the guests to our wedding staying at Hever Castle, for the day after the wedding, only to face what I think is the rudest person I have ever spoken to on the phone. ‘David’ informed us he ‘wasn’t able to accommodate’ us and when we asked why not he said it was not because of table size or size of booking but that he was simply ‘not able to accommodate’ us. When it was pointed out that this was not an explanation, he became hugely aggressive and defensive and accused me of ‘ridiculing’ him and bleated repeatedly that he ‘had already explained himself’ when he had simply done nothing of the sort. After trying several times to work out what his problem was, all he did was get personal and insulting. Incredibly poor attitude, clearly does not like bookings of any kind due to preference for locals. Avoid like the plague.

please contact the landlord / Brewery / tripadvisor direct with any comments, this is a community website for information / parish council news and not for discussions I’m afraid.
