Edenbridge Medical Centre News

Kent County Council will be working to improve the road surface of Hever Road, Hever between Uckfield Lane and the 40mph speed restriction plates approaching Bough Beech.

These road surface improvement works are programmed to start on the 24th July 2024 and should take 1 day to complete. These activities will be undertaken during a short working window between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

During these essential works it will be necessary to close the road completely so that we can carry out the works safely for both the workforce and road users. During this closure, a diversion route will be in place via Hever Road, High Street, Mont St. Aignan Way, Station Road, Four Elms Road, Bough Beech Road, Clinton Lane and Chequers Hill.

The next Hever Parish Council meeting will be held on Monday 8th July in Four Elms Village Hall – 7.00 pm Planning Meeting and 7.30 pm full Council Meeting. The Agenda and meeting pack can be found here:  http://hever.org/parish-council/agendas

As you may be aware, there are plans for 443 new homes on the Land South of Four Elms Road which will offer both open market and affordable housing. The development will include land for a new school, publicly accessible facilities, provision of land for a new youth centre, provision of land for a new scout hut, funding for the construction of a new station car park and provision of public open space.

This is at the pre-application enquiry stage and there will be a public information meeting on Monday 24th June at Rickards Hall, High Street, Edenbridge between 18:00 and 21:00.  This will provide an opportunity to view the proposals in person and speak to a member of the team should you have any questions.  Deadline for comments is 8^th July. Formal consultation will follow thereafter.

There is a campaign being run by Tom Tugendhat, MP, for a direct rail link to Gatwick Airport from Tonbridge, calling at Leigh, Penshurst and Edenbridge stations. The rail link would open up new opportunities to reach Surrey and Sussex more easily and reduce road usage.
