School Bus Survey

Tom Tugendhat, MP, has opened his annual School Bus Survey . If you have children who get the bus to school, or know of someone who does, please do complete the survey.  The link to the survey is here.

Already there has been hundreds of responses and Tom is speaking to bus operators, schools and Kent County Council (KCC) to resolve the issues from the survey responses so far. Overcrowding is an issue on many routes and I know some routes have had timings changed due to delays. He is also keen to hear from anyone who has had trouble getting the Kent Travel Saver delivered from KCC.

Withdrawal of the rail Day Travelcard

You may have read that the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has confirmed he has started the six month process of withdrawing the Day Travelcard used by so many to get to, and travel throughout, London by train and tube.

The Travelcard allows a holder the opportunity of unlimited travel around the capital on public transport. It allows us to buy our train and tube travel together. None of the stations in  our area are located in the Oyster Card area so we will be forced to buy train and tube tickets separately. This is a decision that will impact us all, making it harder for us all to travel to London and beyond.

While the Mayor of London has made it clear that while he will trigger the six month notice, he is open to reversing it. Tom Tugendhat, MP, is collating messages to the Mayor of London on this subject so please fill out the short form on his website here.

He will be sharing with him the strength of feeling across Tonbridge, Edenbridge, and Malling as to how damaging this will be for anyone visiting London.
